ABSTRACT:
The Missionären collection contains the periodical Missionären: Svensk Luthersk Missionstidning (The Missionary: Swedish Lutheran Missions Paper).  Published in Swedish in Moline, Illinois, the paper’s editors strove to inform members of the Augustana Synod of the church’s missionary activity.  A primary focus was on mission news and the promotion of mission interests.  The paper merged with Augustana in 1878 to form Augustana och Missionären.
