ABSTRACT:
Barnvännen: Illusterad Månadstidning för Södagsskolan och Hemmet (Children’s Friend: Illustrated Monthly Paper for Sunday School and Home) was originally issued as a private venture but was later adopted by the Augustana Synod through the Augustana Book Concern.  It was printed in Swedish and contained stories, poems, illustrations, articles, and devotional material for young children of the synod.  Publication was absorbed by Barnens Tidning in 1886.
