ABSTRACT:
The Augustana Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Congregation collection contains minutes of meetings. The earliest records begin with a meeting in 1916 in the Norwegian Lutheran Church of Hettinger with the intent of discussing the formation of a Swedish Lutheran congregation in the town. Minutes are recorded in both English and Swedish. The Augustana Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Congregation was officially established in Hettinger, North Dakota on 14 February 1916 with 87 members. The congregation adopted the constitution of the Augustana Synod in the first official
meeting. The congregation dissolved c. 1937.
