ABSTRACT:
The United Lutheran Church in America Minutes and Reports collection contains the published minutes and reports from the Church’s biennial conventions.  Included in the minute books and reports are convention agendas and programs, financial reports, and reports from various committees and affiliated church bodies.


HISTORICAL NOTE:
The United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA) formed on 14 November 1918 by the merging of three German synods: the General Synod, the General Council, and the United Synod in the South.  During the forthcoming years new synods joined the Church, and synods within the ULCA grew and reorganized.  The ULCA existed until 1962 when it joined with the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (Suomi Synod), and the American Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC) to form the Lutheran Church in America (LCA), which existed until 1987 when the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) was created.
