ABSTRACT:
Records of the Irenian Association consist of the group’s constitution, by-laws, rules of order, membership list, minutes, and the organization’s publication The Excelsior.  “Ladies of G.A. College in order to increase [their] stock of general knowledge, and discipline [their] mental powers for the work of life” formed the literary association in 1883.  Their publication, The Excelsior, was a written by the group’s editor and members to be “both entertaining and instructive.”  The collection follows a chronological arrangement.
