ABSTRACT:
This collection consists of a manuscript copy of Jon Senum’s “The History of Men’s Tennis at Gustavus Adolphus College” compiled and written during 1980. As a student, Senum wrote the history under the direction of men’s tennis coach Steve Wilkinson. Within the 270 leaves, Senum documented the team from the 1890s through 1980. He included a narrative along with clippings from a variety of campus publications and area newspapers. Senum’s paper was written at a time when the school’s tennis team won the NCAA III championship and earned second place in the NAIA.
