Gustavus Choir

The Gustavus Choir draws its repertoire from the fine choral compositions of the past and from contemporary literature. The 65 to 70 member choir performs an annual tour, in Christmas in Christ Chapel, a spring choral concert, services in Christ Chapel, and for other special college events. The Choir's most recent international tours were to Sweden and Finland in 1995, South Africa in 1999, and Italy in 2003. Choir membership is by audition. Rehearsals are Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 5:40 PM.

The Choir of Christ Chapel

The Choir of Christ Chapel performs fine sacred choral literature from primarily the 18th century to the present time. This 65 to 70 member, mixed-voice ensemble sings for services in Christ Chapel, for Christmas in Christ Chapel, an annual spring tour, and at special College events. Major city tour destinations have included San Antonio, St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, Lincoln, and Omaha. Membership is by audition.
Rehearsals are Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
St. Lucia Singers

St. Lucia Singers is one of five curricular choral ensembles at Gustavus Adolphus College. The current roster is comprised of 70 women representing a broad range of academic majors within the College. The choir maintains an active performance schedule, including participation in the annual production of Christmas in Christ Chapel, the Family Weekend Concert, a spring concert, and Chapel services on campus. St. Lucia Singers also performs off campus at area church services and schools.
Choir membership is by determined by audition each semster.
St. Lucia Singers rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:20 PM.
St. Ansgar's Chorus

St. Ansgar's Chorus is a male choral ensemble open to all interested men of the Gustavus community. The St. Ansgar's Chorus rehearses and performs significant sacred and secular works from the great male chorus repertoire.
Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers is a select group of 16 to 20 upper-class voice students who perform madrigals, motets, and other secular and sacred literature. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 3:20 PM.
Small Ensembles

The voice area at Gustavus offers a stunning variety of vocal ensembles. Under the leadership of Dr. Snapp, these groups allow the study of musical theater, opera, renaissance and popular contemporary. Courses are arranged individually depending on the objectives of each group.
