Physical Therapy Four Year Plan
For many Physical Therapy programs, all prerequisite courses must be completed by the time of application. For example, if an applicant applied in the summer following their junior year, all pre-requisite requirements would need to be completed by the end of the junior year. BIO 101 Principles of Biology
CHE 107 Principles of Chemistry (Recommended in first year if planning on a Biology major, pre-requisite for BIO 201 and BIO 202)
FTS 100 (Writing Intensive course-WRITI)
PSY 100 General Psychology
First Year: Spring
BIO 102 Organismal Biology
CHE 141 Organic Chemistry I (Recommended in first year if planning on a Biology major, pre-requisite for BIO 201 and BIO 202)
S/A 111, 112, 113 or other S/A course
Second Year: Fall
HES 234 Human Anatomy & Physiology I
CHE 107 Principles of Chemistry
HES 212 Lifespan Development or (PSY 234 Child Developmental and PSY 334 Adult Development)
Second Year: Spring
HES 235 Human Anatomy & Physiology II
CHE 141 Organic Chemistry I
PSY 241 Abnormal Psychology
Third Year: Fall
PHY 120/121 General Physics I or PHY 122/121 General Physics I w/calculus
MCS 142 Introduction to Statistics (or *equivalent, not E/M- 125)

*Majority of MN PT programs accept MCS 140 (U of M does NOT accept MCS 140 as equivalent)

Pre-requisite Requirements MN Physical Therapy Programs:
- College of St. Scholastica (100 hours minimum observation or work experience required)
- Mayo Clinic (100 hours minimum observation or work experience required, varied settings preferred)
- St. Catherine University (60 hours minimum observation or work experience required, strongly recommended two or more settings)
- University of Minnesota (100 hours minimum observation or work experience required)
