Student Organizations
- Asian Cultures Club
- As members of the Gustavus community, we feel that in order to maintain our backgrounds and to share them with the community, it is necessary that we join together in an organization to help others understand our cultural differences. We feel that most people place all Asians under one category and assume that we are all of the same culture. We would like to change this view by sharing and teaching our traditions. For this purpose, we now acknowledge this document of the Asian Cultural Club.
- College Democrats
- In order to promote a better America, with equality, opportunity, and freedom within a just and strong society, we dedicate ourselves to organizing the participation of Democratic college students at Gustavus Adolphus College. In this mission, we call for full participation of all Gustavus students, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, physical handicap, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation. We want an America that gives all Americans the chance to live out their dreams and achieve their God-given potential. We want an America that is still the world's strongest force for peace and freedom. And we want an America that is coming together around our enduring values, instead of drifting apart. Democrats are determined to renew America's most basic bargain: Opportunity to every American, and responsibility from every American. And Democrats are determined to reawaken the great sense of American community.
- College Republicans
- The Gustavus College Republicans are a group dedicated to representing conservative Republican values on campus and in the state of Minnesota. The College Republicans at Gustavus have opportunities to meet with political leaders, help out at political rallies, learn about the political system and generally have a lot of fun in the process. Membership in the Gustavus College Republicans is open to current and past Gustavus students and staff. You don't even have to be a Republican to join; anyone with an interest in politics is welcome.
- Crossroads
- The Crossroads Program was created in 1996 to embody this portion of Gustavus Adolphus College mission. Crossroads aspires to be a community of persons from diverse backgrounds who respect and affirm the dignity of all people. It brings together a population of international students; domestic students who have or will live or studied abroad; and students interested in language, culture and the study of the world.
- Diversity Committee
- The purpose of the Diversity Committee is to advise the President and campus leadership on matters related to diversity at Gustavus. This will be accomplished by assisting in the maintenance of an approved diversity plan, monitoring and periodically reporting in the achievement and non-achievement of plan goals, serving as a resource for information and perspective on institutional diversity issues, and assisting in marshalling resources from the Gustavus community to aid in achieving our diversity goals.
- I Am We Are
- I Am We Are is a student-led organization striving to create a more just campus community by organizing and presenting theatrical performances and workshops that deal with issues of social justice. Based in the works of Augusto Boal, and begun by Vanita Vactor in 1995, the group has a number of performances both on- and off-campus throughout the year. Campus performances generally include E Pluribus Gustavus and EPGAC 2.0 in the fall semester and the Building Bridges Conference in the spring. The group partners with The Thambo Project, a local non-profit organization, to provide workshops and performances at colleges and high-schools in the local community and elsewhere. Workshops are held for new members each fall.
- International Cultures Club
- The International Cultures Club (ICC) keep its door open to all students who are interested in the appreciation of cultural diversity and international awareness. Guest lecturers, international dinners, trips to Minneapolis/St. Paul and other cities, and participation in the International Festival at North Elementary School are among the many activities of this organization.
- OLAS
- To provide students of GAC, as well as the St. Peter community, with venue to learn about Latin America and Spanish cultures. It is to develop awareness and promote the history and language of Latin American and Spanish countries through activities and events in which an interchange of cultures will take place.
- Pan Afrikan Student Organization
- We, the members of the Pan Afrikan Organization of Gustavus Adolphus College, in an effort to foster amiable relationships between ourselves and the campus-at-large, do hereby agree to promote cultures of the African Homeland and Diaspora, support each other to the utmost of our ability, uphold, cherish, and embrace African culture, love each other as we love ourselves, and welcome non-African members while still holding true to the practice and belief of unity of the Black heart, the Black mind, the Black body and the Black soul.
- Queers and Allies
- Q&A is a student led campus group concerned with fostering a supportive environment for GLBTQ persons, as well as their allies. We seek to raise awareness regarding GLBTQA persons and their desire to simply be treated as equals, nothing more. We also strive to let those students on campus who may be in the closet or struggling with these sorts of issues know that they are not alone, and that we are one possible resource and/or outlet available.
- The Womyn's Awareness Center
- The Womyn's Awareness Center is a designated safe place for womyn and men interested in womyn's issues to think, discuss, argue, laugh, and freely be themselves. It also serves as a resource center for feminist, reproductive rights, justice, queer, and various other issues. This year we have discussed such issues as pornography, constructive controversial conversations, reproductive rights, feminist politics, safe sexuality and health options on campus. The WAC also organizes events for Women's History Month, International Women's Day Banquet, Celebration of Womyn, along with sponsoring speakers and organizing various activist activities throughout the year. Interested, womyn-centered students are always invited to use the resource center and join the meetings, held every Thursday night at 9pm.

By making all aware and educating the community on diverse issues we believe the community will be strengthened and come together. Every person has a place in the community that deserves to be respected and appreciated, and the ladies of Zeta Chi Phi want to make sure that happens.
