  • Current Employment: Group Managing Director - Pro Staff.
  • Have you been able to use your Spanish post-graduation? Initially, I used Spanish quite a bit as a recruiter and in my role as an interviewer with Pro Staff. As I moved into a sales, and more recently, a management role, I used it less and less.
  • Are your Spanish-speaking skills and important part of your career? Initially, yes they were. The ability to speak Spanish was very helpful to me as I entered the staffing industry and my colleagues looked to me to work through many situations that they were unable to handle because the could not communicate in Spanish.

  • Current Employment: Sr. Bilingual Benefits Specialist - Target Corp.
  • Have you been able to use your Spanish post-graduation? I have a great job at Target headquarters administering benefits. We are support for Target employees for all of their benefits related questions. I talk to Spanish speaking employees across the country on a daily basis.
  • Are your Spanish-speaking skills and important part of your career? Yes, many Spanish speaking employees have questions about their healthcare options, pay issues, the process of transferring to another store…and many stores don’t have Spanish-speaking human resource reps to help them so they can call us and using my Spanish I can answer an HR questions they may have.

  • Current Employment: Product Development, Merchandiser.
  • Have you been able to use your Spanish post-graduation? Yes, my first job out of college involved international sales for a small company. We had many costumers in Mexico and throughout Latin America. I was at this position for 7 years and my Spanish skills were very well used.
  • Are your Spanish-speaking skills and important part of your career? Currently, I am pursuing another opportunity which unfortunately does not utilize my Spanish skills
