Flute Choir

The Gustavus Flute Choir provides an opportunity for advanced flutists to study and perform literature for multiple instruments. Performances are scheduled both on and off campus. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7:00-8:15 p.m.
Gustavus Chamber Winds

Chamber Winds provides the 10 advanced performers from the Gustavus Wind Orchestra to perform in a traditional Harmonie Ensemble in pairs of flutes, oboes, clarinets, horns, and bassoons. Chamber Winds performs the most advanced and significant wind chamber music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th century, and current periods of music history. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Greater Gustavus Bassoon Guild

The GGBG provides an opportunity for bassoonists to rehearse and perform bassoon ensemble literature. Performances are scheduled both on and off campus. The group meets each semester for special performance events.
Woodwind Chamber Ensembles
WW faculty, coaches
A number of mixed trios, quartets, quintets, etc. are possible, providing accomplished instrumentalists an opportunity for an exciting ensemble experience of a soloistic nature. Rehearsals are arranged, and performances are scheduled both on and off campus.
Brass Choir

The Gustavus Brass Choir is a large brass ensemble, often combining with percussion, to perform music from all periods of brass music from Gabrieli to the present day. The Brass Choir performs regularly during Daily Sabbath in Christ Chapel, and performs annually at the Brassworks! concert in Bjorling Recital Hall. Rehearsals are Mondays from 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Christ Chapel Brass Quintet

The Christ Chapel Brass Quintet is a select ensemble of Gustavus's finest brass musicians. The quintet performs regularly for Daily Sabbath and supports many ad hoc campus events with music. The quintet also performs in local churches and schools.
Brass Chamber Music

The backbone of the Gustavus Brass Program, various ensembles (including the Chapel Brass) are offered so students can explore the excitement of small ensemble literature. Gustavus offers quartets, quintets and trios that provide challenge and growth to our students. Frequent performances are scheduled on and off campus. Rehearsals are arranged.
Trombone Choir

The Trombone Choir provides an opportunity for advanced trombone students to perform in a sonorous group which rehearses once per week. Performances include full-length concerts, Chapel services, and church services off-campus. . Rehearsals are M 6:30-7:20pm
Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble

This ensemble provides performance opportunities for all tuba and euphonium players in a variety of settings, from recitals and concerts to performances in Chapel. Spring only. Rehearsals are M 6:30-7:20pm
Gustavus Percussion Ensembles

The Gustavus Percussion Ensemble allows serious percussion students an opportunity to perform the rapidly expanding repertoire of music in this area. Performances are scheduled each semester. Rehearsals are arranged.

Early Music Ensemble

The Early Music Ensemble is a group dedicated to the performance of early music using various wind, string and percussion instruments. Performances are sometimes in conjunction with dance, theatre and other music presentations. (There is also a beginning level class for those interested in learning how to play the recorder, mastery of which is needed for membership in the EME.) Rehearsals are arranged.
Handbell Choirs

The bell choirs are a select group of handbell ringers. In addition to study and performance of handbell literature, the members provide liturgical assistance for Christ Chapel and the Ringers perform off campus as well. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. (Glockenchor), 7:30 p.m. (Chapel Bells), and 8:30 p.m. (Chapel Ringers).
