Seán EastonFaculty
Professor Seán Easton teaches in the department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies (GLCS) and the Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies interdisciplinary program (PJCS). Seán's focus of research is epic tradition, the pre-modern world (Greek, Roman, and beyond) on screen; and the pre-modern history of peace and non-violence, as well as screen representations of conflict transformation. Seán is chair of the GLCS department from fall, 2021 through spring, 2024, and director of the PJCS program for spring term, 2022. He regularly teaches 'Introduction to Peace Studies' in alternation with Dr. Mimi Gerstbauer (director of PJCS through fall, 2021) and Dr. Joaquín Villanueva. Seán also frequently co-teaches the Three Crowns Program's first semester course, CUR 100: 'Transformations, Values and Identity'.
Seán maintains a blog ('Centuries Coexist'), which deals with the reception of ancient Greece and Rome in film and television. The link is here.
