First-year Student Parking Facts

Parking permit registration

Online registration is not available during the school year. Parking permits for the 2009-2010 school year are available in the Campus Safety office.

Online registration for 2010-2011 permits will be available in July. Parking enforcement begins the first day of classes. A parking permits is required to park on campus.

Because the student will be responsible for the vehicle while on campus, we ask that the student (and not the parent) complete the registration process.

For the registration process, students will need their Gustavus-issued e-mail username and password, along with the vehicle's exact license plate number and a description of the vehicle (make, color, year).

Student on-campus parking permits for the 2010-2011 scholl year will be $210 and are valid for the entire school year. Permit holders are responsible for their registered vehicles. It is their responsibility to know and obey all parking rules and regulations.

If you complete the online registration, your permit decal will be found in your campus mailbox upon arrival to campus on Orientation Day. Parking enforcement begins the first day of classes, and a parking permit is required to park on campus. Students will need to park according to permit color. Resident student permit decals are colored red for Resident Student parking. See the campus map.

Students should make themselves familiar with all Resident Student parking areas, there will not always be an available space near their residence hall. When viewing the map, click the "permit parking" option.

Visitor Parking spaces are closed to students and staff at all times. For students who chose not to purchase a parking permit, short-term temporary parking passes can be purchased for $4/weekday and enable students to park in the Arbor View parking lot.
