Statement Of Purpose/ Mission
The members of the Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club strive to reach their full potential in both their skating ability and in their levels of teamwork. The Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club will provide an additional club sport to offer the Gustavus students. Members of the team are dedicated individuals working towards the ultimate goal of improving skating skills and encouraging other club members to succeed in their skating abilities. Members have various skating abilities and will have the option to just skate for fun in addition to some competitive opportunities if interested.

Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club Constitution The members of the Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club strive to reach their full potential through both individual rehearsal and practice, and the encouragement of other members of the GAFSC. The Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club will provide an additional activity to offer Gustavus students. Members of the GAFSC are dedicated individuals from all ability levels with a love for figure skating, working towards the ultimate goal of improving their skating skills. Article I: Name and Mission Statement Section I: The organization shall be the Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club. Section II: The mission of the association is: We desire to encourage Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club members to increase their skating abilities and strive to reach their full potential as they assist and encourage other team members to succeed. The Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club hopes to bring a greater amount of recognition to figure skating at the college level and provide another aspect to the school that might entice future prospective students. Article II: Membership Section I: Any student or faculty member at Gustavus Adolphus College may be a member of the Gustavus Adolphus Figure Skating Club. Previous skating ability is suggested, however, there are no tryouts. Article III: Officers Section I: Positions The positions available are Co-Presidents and Treasurer. Section II: Purpose The officers will organize all practices, event schedules, and travel arrangements. Section III: Candidacy All officers need to be enrolled at Gustavus Adolphus College. Nominations will be made at the end of each academic year and the members will make an anonymous vote to elect members into office. There is no limit on how many years an officer may hold a title. Section IV: Co-Presidents The Co-Presidents will have the ultimate say in the skating program and will organize practices. They will seek outside help when scheduling or other essential issues need to be taken care of. They will also notify the members of the team of all practices, meetings, and events. They will keep an updated schedule available for every member to view. Section V: Treasurer The Treasurer is in charge of making sure all event fees and fees to outside sources for apparel, etc. are paid. Article IV: Meetings Section I: Meetings will be when needed to form goals for the semester. Article V: Finances Section I: Funds are allocated by the Gustavus Student Senate, fundraising, and personal funds. Article V: Amendments Section I: At anytime any member may propose an amendment to the constitution. A requirement of a ¾ vote of the current members of the group is required for the amendment to be instilled.
