The purpose of the Badminton Club is to bring people together who are interested in playing badminton, to teach and learn from one another, to have fun, and to get a good workout.

Article I: Name. The name of this organization shall be the Gustavus Adolphus Badminton Club. Article II: Purpose. The purpose of Badminton Club will be to meet weekly and play badminton, both recreationally and competitively. Part of the club will also be to help prepare members for participation in tournaments, both collegiate and open, and to help connect people with these said tournaments throughout the academic year. Article III: Membership. Anyone who is able to attend is welcome to come and play. Article IV: Officers. The following officers exist for Badminton Club: President, Vice President, and Treasurer. These are unelected positions, with leadership going to those who have the interest and time to help sustain the organization. The duties of officers include: President: Have access to and bring necessary equipment (rackets, courts, etc), set up practice times and dates, and handle process of learning about and arranging attendance at tournaments. Vice President: Assist president in previous duties as the situation requires. Treasurer: Monitor spending for club materials and tournament attendance. Presidents choose their own successors with tacit approval of membership. Article V: Meetings. Badminton will have weekly meetings led by president or co-presidents where necessary. If one of these people is not available, another will be designated to lead meetings. The time and dates of meetings will be determined at beginning of each semester in order to best meet needs of the members’ schedules. Attendance is not mandatory, but will be considered when forming rosters for competitions. Depending on interest in competitive play, the interested members of the club shall travel to tournaments held outside of meeting times when possible.
