- KGSM Radio is a non-profit college internet radio station affiliated with Gustavus Adolphus College and its surrounding local community. We seek to enhance the Gustavus Adolphus community by offering diverse, educational, inspirational, and musical programming that reflects Gustavus’ desire to cultivate an outstanding level of student media outreach. We provide the opportunity for students to voice their opinions, express themselves creatively, and experience an exciting and under-utilized branch of media.

Article I: Name
This Organization’s name is KGSM.
Article II: Mission
KGSM Radio is a non-profit college internet radio station affiliated with Gustavus Adolphus College and its surrounding local community. We seek to enhance the Gustavus Adolphus community by offering diverse, educational, inspirational, and musical programming that reflects Gustavus’ desire to cultivate an outstanding level of student media outreach. We provide the opportunity for students to voice their opinions, express themselves creatively, and experience an exciting and under-utilized branch of media.
Article III: Membership
Section 1: Members are accepted at the beginning of each semester.
Section 2: All students who fill out the application, sign the liability contract, and have been given a comprehensive tour of the KGSM Office (Beck 118) can be accepted as members. Upon finalization of membership, all members will be granted KGSM Office key-card access, and Gold Cards allowing them to stay there for the duration of their show time if it is late.
Section 3: Attendance at every meeting is not required. Members may show up when they are able. Section 4: Members may be barred or put on probation for breaching the Gustavus Code of Conduct, damaging property belonging to KGSM, or engaging in any behavior that is derogatory or potentially harmful to other members, or the campus at large.
Section 5: Barring of members must be deiced by a two-thirds majority of the board at a special meeting that can be called at any time, by any member of the board. All board members must be present at this meeting.
Section 6: If a member is to be barred they must first be put on probation, and are given two warnings to correct their behavior. If they do not correct the behavior after two warnings then the board can eliminate their membership to the organization. If a member is being barred they have the right to ask for readmittance after two months. To be readmitted they must prove that they have corrected their behavior. Readmittance requires a two-thirds majority of the board.
Article IV: Executive Board
Section 1: The following officer positions will exist within KGSM: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Risk Manager. All positions are open to members of the organization. Members with the longest active membership are given priority when being considered for office.
Section 2: Each officer position will be decided annually at the end of each academic year.
Section 3: Officers can be removed if they fail to show up to important meetings or for breaching Article III, Section 5. This will be voted on by the other board members.
Section 4: The board members will oversee event planning, meetings, advertising for the organization, as well as working with other organizations.
Article V: Meetings
A meeting will be held at least once a month. More meetings may be added if the interest from organization members is strong. Any additional meetings will be announced promptly to all members; excluding any meetings that are just the board members. Meetings will be run by the President. If the President is unable to attend a meeting, the Vice President will take over.
