Student OrgsRock-Bottom Musicals
- Statement Of Purpose/ Mission
- Currently at Gustavus, The Theatre and Dance department puts on a musical every other J term. We have started this organization in order to put on musicals annually. Additionally, the J Term musicals put on by the Theatre and Dance department are very rigorous in rehearsal schedule, warranting about 7 hours of rehearsal daily, which is not conducive to those who are not fully dedicated to theatre as their main activity. We as an organization provide lower committment productions to students who may not have the time to fully commit to a main stage show. By putting on productions separate from the Theatre and Dance departent, we will provide more opportunities to students with interest in music but who also choose to pursue interests in other areas.
