Faculty/Administrator in Residence Program
The Residential Life program at Gustavus shifted its focus during the 2011-12 academic year and created a Residential Learning Plan – an outcome-based outside-the-classroom curriculum that created intentional opportunities for personal and community development through a sequential set of lesson plans and community meetings and events.
With this philosophical shift, there is an increasing need to change the current structure of the department to meet the growing needs of the Gustavus student body. Along with the addition of a fourth Area Coordinator, several changes will be made to the Head Resident position to create a more robust, intentional set of responsibilities and expectations. These changes will be effective for the fall semester of 2012.
The Head Resident program will be called the Faculty/Administrator in Residence Program and will focus on the intentional involvement of faculty in educational programming, social events, community activities, service projects, and advising.
