Human Performance Lab - Fitness Assessments
Goal
The goal of the Human Performance Laboratory is to increase awareness to overall health and fitness and provide recommendations to improve diet and enhance physical performance.
Services
Human Performance Lab technicians are equipped to perform fitness assessments, provide dietary analysis, and set up fitness programs for students and employees at no cost.
Lab Technicians
Senior health fitness majors are trained as lab technicians to work in the Human Performance Lab.
Assessments
An individual assessment is a series of tests performed to determine current level of physical performance. The tests include: height and weight, heart rate and blood pressure, body composition, strength and endurance, flexibility and postural analysis, and cardiovascular fitness.
Appointments
Students and employees can make appointments for fitness assessments by signing up outside the door to the Human Performance Lab or talking personally with a lab technician regarding dietary analysis and fitness programs.
Location
The Human Performance Lab is located in Lund Center, between the athletic training room and the athletic equipment office.
Hours
The Lab hours vary from week to week and semester to semester. Each lab technician is scheduled to work during the school year for two hours per week, and those hours are posted outside the door to the Human Performance Lab.
Steps to a Fitness Assessment
- Sign up for an assessment time on the sheet outside the Human Performance Lab.
- Show up at your scheduled time, dress for activity. (ie - shorts, tennis shoes,t-shirt, sports bra, etc.)
- Wait for a letter in your PO Box showing results of your assessment and recommendations for maintenance or improvements. If you have any additional questions about the Human Performance Lab or the assessments that will be performed please contact:
