Balke-Ware Submaximal GXT Test

Submaximal GXT (graded exercise test) - Modified Balke protocol: this is a test that measures how well the lungs use oxygen. The test consists of walking on a treadmill at a constant speed with a gradual increase in incline for the duration of the test. During the test, blood pressure, heart rate, and rate of percieved exertion is monitored by the lab technician. The length of the test is determined by calculating 85% of your age-predicted max heart rate.
