Produce a “Well” Event

Gustavus Wellbeing is a movement to help Gustavus students be healthier, happier, and make the most of their college experience. The Gustavus Wellbeing co-sponsorship program supports student leaders in developing one-time or short-term programs or events that positively contribute to the personal and community wellbeing of Gusties.

Co-sponsorship Guidelines and Application:

The Gustavus Wellbeing Co-Sponsorship Program provides support to a limited number of events, programs, and other initiatives that get Gusties involved in new activities and offer opportunities to improve their lives.

To be considered for funding, events or activities must:

  • Help attendees reduce stress and/or anxiety, get physically active, support healthier behaviors, or explore their overall wellbeing.
  • Have a marketing or recruitment strategy to reach students who would not normally attend campus events. Any student can apply on behalf of an officially recognized Gustavus organization or group. Examples include (but are not limited to): Greek life organizations, Student Senate representatives, Collegiate Fellows, Student Athlete Volunteer Educators, music ensembles, and more.

What to request:

  • Monetary: Student leaders may ask for co-sponsorship money to help subsidize up to 50% of their event’s total budget. The total requested should not exceed $8 per student expected to attend the event.
  • Product: Student leaders may request giveaway items for their event (that will include Gustavus Wellbeing branding). Examples include (but are not limited to): stress balls, sleep masks, jump ropes, as well as many other ideas.

How to make a request:

  1. Download the Gustavus Wellbeing Co-Sponsorship Application
  2. Complete the application and submit it to wellbeing@gustavus.edu no later than three weeks prior to your event. Please include a copy of your promotional materials with the Gustavus Wellbeing Stamp applied.
  3. Meeting the criteria for co-sponsorship does not guarantee you will receive financial support or products.
  4. A limited number of events can be sponsored and the events that do the best job of presenting plans and strategies for meeting the outlined criteria will receive first consideration.
  5. Include the Gustavus Wellbeing Stamp on all flyers and event/program materials. You will need to email wellbeing@gustavus.edu with a copy of your promotional materials with the Gustavus Wellbeing Stamp applied before your application is reviewed.
  6. List your event with Gustavus Wellbeing via the event submission form.
  7. Take pictures at the event and post those photos to Facebook and tag Gustavus Wellbeing; tweet them to @GAC_Wellbeing, or Instagram @GAC_Wellbeing #GustavusWellbeing
  8. Email wellbeing@gustavus.edu with a brief report of what happened at the event, including the number of attendees and your final budget with copies of your receipts.

Use the Gustavus Wellbeing Logo

What is the Gustavus Wellbeing Logo?

The Gustavus Wellbeing Stamp is a visual cue that highlights opportunities throughout campus for students to make a decision or to take action that can positively contribute to their overall wellbeing.

Who can use the Gustavus Wellbeing Logo?

The Gustavus Wellbeing Stamp can be used by any member of the Gustavus community – students, staff, faculty, clubs, CFs, student government, RHDs, Global Sites, Gustavus offices or departments; really, anyone!

Why should I use the Gustavus Wellbeing Logo?

Events bearing the Gustavus Wellbeing stamp will be promoted on the Gustavus Wellbeing Blog and across our social media platforms, in addition to making your event or initiative stand out as an opportunity to have fun in a way that lets students live it up...and live well.

When is it appropriate to use the Gustavus Wellbeing Logo?

The Gustavus Wellbeing stamp can be used on signage or promotional materials for events, programs, or other initiatives throughout campus that promote personal or community wellbeing. The stamp can be used for opportunities that are not primarily focused on health but should help students reduce stress, improve their lives, get physically active, or other activities that support their overall wellbeing.

Examples:

  • A film screening where nutritious snacks will be served
  • A walking tour of the Arboretum
  • A de-stressing event, such as movie night, during finals week
  • Cultural event
  • Signage highlighting healthy snack or meal options
  • Study session
  • Take the stairs signage
